PATTAYA, THAILAND – A routine morning in the beach city turned into a police investigation after a domestic argument between a Filipino transgender woman and her Ukrainian boyfriend erupted into violence inside a condominium on Pattaya Third Road.
Authorities said the incident occurred early Saturday, shortly before 7:40 a.m., when the couple’s dispute over a mosquito repellent escalated. The confrontation left the man, identified as 38‑year‑old Mr. Maksym, with a stab wound to his left ribcage.
Emergency response and aftermath
Rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center arrived within minutes after receiving an emergency call. They found the Ukrainian tourist bleeding heavily and administered first aid before transferring him to a local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told police that the victim had fled from his condominium unit in distress, running downstairs for help. Mr. Natthaphong Kaen Akas, a 28‑year‑old shop owner nearby, said the injured man collapsed at his storefront.
“HE WAS BLEEDING AND BEGGED TO BE TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL,”
Natthaphong recalled, adding that he immediately notified authorities.
Suspect detained at the scene
Police patrols quickly located the suspect, 40‑year‑old Mrs. Pulido, inside Room 204 of the same building. Officers described her as highly emotional and in shock. She admitted to stabbing her partner with a pair of scissors during the confrontation.
A transgender Thai witness at the condominium told investigators that tension between the couple had been building before the incident. When the Ukrainian man sprayed mosquito repellent at his partner, the argument intensified. In the ensuing struggle, Pulido allegedly seized the scissors and struck him once in the torso.
Investigation continues
The Pattaya City Police Station has taken Pulido into custody while gathering physical evidence and testimony. Officers have prioritized ensuring that the victim receives full medical care before proceeding with interviews. Once he is stable, police said, he will be invited to file a formal complaint.
Authorities did not immediately provide further details regarding potential charges. The case adds to ongoing concerns about domestic disputes among expatriate and tourist communities in Pattaya, a coastal city south of Bangkok known for its lively nightlife and growing migrant population.
