Fatal morning on Ratchaphruek Road
At around 7:30am on September 11, Bang Srimueang police responded to a crash outside a gas station on Ratchaphruek–Nonthaburi Road. Officers found 20-year-old Thitiporn unconscious on the ground. Despite resuscitation attempts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although her red Honda PCX lay some distance away and her helmet had come off, she showed no external injuries. Long skid marks over 10 metres suggested a severe impact.
Eyewitness describes horrific scene
Gas station employee Bow (24) witnessed the accident. She reported that Thitiporn had been travelling at high speed before the fall:
“Her helmet came off, and her head hit the asphalt with full force.”
Bow saw the young woman briefly rise, hold her head, and then collapse unconscious. It was unclear whether another driver was involved.
CCTV reveals deadly swerve
Surveillance cameras provided crucial evidence. Footage shows a man on a blue Honda Wave suddenly switching from the middle to the left lane just as Thitiporn approached from behind.
To avoid a collision, she swerved sharply, lost control, and fell in front of the gas station. The Honda Wave rider paused briefly but then left the scene without offering help. Passersby called the police and emergency services.
Was it a hit-and-run?
The fleeing motorcyclist has not yet been summoned. It remains uncertain whether he bears any legal responsibility. Lane changes must be performed safely and with adequate warning.
Thitiporn’s speed may have contributed to the accident. Authorities are reviewing all evidence to reconstruct the events. If the man is found primarily at fault, he could face charges for failure to render aid and possibly negligent homicide.
Helmet safety under scrutiny
Investigators note that the helmet came off during the crash, indicating it may not have been properly secured. A correctly fastened helmet should remain in place and protect the head during a fall.
