Truck error wrecks 10 cars

Fatal mistake in a crowded car park

In a residential complex in Samut Prakan, cars were packed tightly together. So tightly, in fact, that many residents left their handbrakes off and gears neutral, making it easier for neighbours to push vehicles if needed. That convenience quickly turned into chaos.
When a truck driver started his vehicle without checking that the gear was still engaged, the heavy lorry lurched forward with a jolt. It slammed straight into the car in front, triggering a violent chain reaction. One after another, cars were shunted forward, scraped and shoved aside. By the time it stopped, ten vehicles had been damaged—some pushed completely out of their spaces.

TikTok captures the dramatic scene

The entire disaster was caught on camera by user @jikkosanfa, who posted the clip on TikTok with the caption: “A reminder from the housing estate, not sure what happened #carcrash #everyonehit #parking #accidentcaneverytime.” The video spread like wildfire, racking up thousands of shares and sparking heated debate about parking safety in Thailand.
The footage shows the truck driver frantically trying to push one of the cars back into place, at times putting himself at risk. Incredibly, no one was injured. But the material damage is severe—thousands of euros’ worth of dents, scrapes and bent bumpers.

Calls for accountability and safety

Residents of the community are shaken. “This could have ended much worse,” one man said, voicing frustration at the casual parking habits. Many blame the practice of leaving cars without handbrakes as reckless, warning that it puts everyone in danger.
One TikTok comment summed it up sharply: “A two-second check could have prevented this ten-car accident.” Indeed, a quick glance at the gear lever would have been enough to avert disaster.

Police probe possible negligence

Local police in Samut Prakan have launched an investigation into the case. For now, it is unclear whether the truck driver will face legal consequences. What is certain: his mistake left behind a trail of wrecked cars and angry neighbours.
Investigators are considering whether his actions count as negligence. In Thailand, traffic accidents that cause property damage can result in fines—or even jail time—if gross negligence is proven. The outcome of this case may depend on just how careless the courts deem his actions to have been.
