SARABURI, THAILAND – A TikTok personality was fatally shot on the street in front of her two-year-old child on June 8. The perpetrator, her ex-boyfriend, fled the scene and later died by suicide during a police pursuit.
Shots Fired Beside the White Honda Jazz
The 26-year-old was on her way to meet her ex-boyfriend before the encounter turned fatal. She had stopped her car on Phahon Yothin Road. Officers from the Mueang Saraburi Police Station discovered the young woman lifeless next to her vehicle.
Her two-year-old son was still in the car at the time of the incident. The child was retrieved from the vehicle following the event.
From Gas Station Attendant to TikTok Fame
The victim had worked at a local gas station and was popular among her more than 200,000 followers on TikTok. Her killer, Beer, had also previously worked there as a tanker truck driver. This employment history might have been the catalyst for the subsequent tragedy.
According to police, Pon had reported Beer’s misconduct to her supervisor. The consequence wasswift: Beer was terminated just a few days before the incident.
Jealousy and a Lost Job
The victim’s husband, Kla, had spoken with Pon via video call shortly before the shooting. She had told him she was meeting Beer because he allegedly wanted to help her. However, investigators believe two potential motives were at play: a complicated romantic entanglement and anger over the lost job.
Pon was originally in a relationship with Kla, and the couple had a child before separating. Pon then began a relationship with Beer, but that partnership also failed. Afterward, she reconciled with Kla, while Beer had to cope with job loss and rejection.
Chase on the Friendship Highway
Following the shooting, Beer fled Saraburi in his car. Police initiated a pursuit on the Friendship Highway in Nakhon Ratchasima. The high-speed chase ended abruptly when the suspect’s vehicle suffered a tire blowout and came to a standstill.
As officers approached the car, they found Beer deceased inside. Police suspect suicide.
Borrowed Money, Denied Jealousy
Local media reported that before the incident, Beer had contacted a friend and asked for money to facilitate his escape. During the conversation, he reportedly denied that jealousy or heartbreak were the reasons for his desperate act.
Police are now examining whether the termination was the decisive motive. The dismissal stemmed from Pon’s report—an accusation Beer apparently could not let go.
Victim’s Family Requests Silence
Pon’s relatives had already provided statements to the police but wish to make no further comments. They declined any additional remarks regarding the violent crime.
The two-year-old child, who witnessed the brutal killing of his mother, is now in the care of the family.
