PATTAYA, THAILAND – A go‑go bar employee handed a bag containing A$9,700 (about 200,000 baht), credit cards and a passport to Pattaya City police after finding it outside her workplace on 13 October 2025, officials said.
Generous discovery
Ms. Chomnat Sing-od, 42, an employee of the Queen A‑Go‑Go Bar, arrived at Pattaya City police station at about 08:06 that morning carrying a black shoulder bag she had found outside the venue. Inside were nearly 9,700 Australian dollars, several credit cards and a passport belonging to a 48‑year‑old Australian, according to police reports.
Acting with transparency
Rather than keeping the money, Ms. Chomnat immediately reported the find. She told officers she had discovered the bag on the ground after returning from a meal with colleagues and initially assumed it might belong to a co‑worker. To ensure transparency she filmed the discovery on video before notifying police. ‘This money does not belong to me,’ she said, adding that she wanted to protect her own reputation, that of her bar, and Pattaya’s image as a tourist destination.
CCTV identifies the owner
Footage from the venue’s CCTV cameras shows a large foreign man wearing a long‑sleeved black shirt and black shorts, with a tattoo on his left leg. The video shows him carrying the bag in his right hand and shoes in his left; he appears to rest briefly near the entrance before walking away without the bag. Police said they are actively seeking the man to return his belongings.

Authorities and local operators said the employee’s actions send a positive message to visitors.
