HUA HIN, Thailand – Two people died in the early hours of June 7 after falling from a hotel building. Police are investigating a suspected joint suicide.
Bodies Found in Early Morning
Around 3:00 AM, a hotel in Hua Hin alerted the police. A man and a woman had fallen from a height and lay lifeless on the third floor of the building. “The officers, led by Police Major General Apichai Buranakul and Police Colonel Kampanat Na Wichai, found the bodies close to each other. The deceased are a 43-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman from Hua Hin.”
Farewell Letter on the Table
Investigators discovered a handwritten letter in the hotel room. The text contained an apology to the family and spoke of exhaustion from life’s problems. The mother was asked to take care of herself. There was no sign of a struggle or a search of the room; it was undisturbed, and personal belongings were untouched. Together with the surveillance footage, the impression of a planned joint step solidified.
Last Embrace Before the Fall
The evaluation of the surveillance cameras shows the couple’s final minutes. Around 2:45 AM, they left their room, carrying a chair first to the 15th and then to the 16th floor. The images show the two embracing. Then they fell, landing on the third floor. “Police are interpreting the footage as clear evidence of a joint suicide attempt.”
Debts as a Possible Trigger
The mother of the deceased man appeared distraught at the scene. She informed the officers that her son had suffered from intense stress due to debts outside the formal financial system. For the police, this is a central line of inquiry. “Further investigations will clarify whether the pressure from illegal loans drove the couple to their deaths.”
Autopsy to Clarify Final Details
The bodies were transferred to Hua Hin Hospital for forensic examination. Police are continuing their investigation to definitively document the cause of death and the exact sequence of events. Initial findings suggest death resulted from a fall from a great height. “At present, officers rule out third-party involvement.”
