PHUKET, Thailand – A 24-year-old Indian tourist suffered a leg injury at Patong Beach after a jet ski struck him and threw him into the water. Rescuers rushed him to Patong Hospital for tests and treatment.
Jagga Hardik had rented a jet ski in front of Patong Beach, in the sub-district of Patong, Kathu district. While riding, the watercraft hit his leg, and the tourist fell into the sea.
The accident happened on August 12, 2026, at around 6.30pm. The exact nature and severity of the leg injury were not immediately clear.
Lifeguards pull him ashore
Lifeguards on Patong Beach spotted the accident and immediately helped the injured man. They brought him back to the shore.
A Facebook user named “Chue Luang Niren” posted a video of the rescue. The caption read: “Emergency rescue after a tourist fell off a jet ski and was injured.” The user runs a taxi stand in the area and alerted medical help via the emergency hotline 1669.
First aid on the sand
Around 7.30pm, helpers from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation arrived at the beach. They treated the tourist on the spot.
Initial examinations showed that Hardik could not walk. The rescuers carried him off the beach on a stretcher.
Treatment at Patong Hospital
The helpers then transported the 24-year-old to Patong Hospital for medical tests and treatment.
Further examinations were expected to determine how severe his leg injury was.
