PATTAYA, Thailand – Poramese Ngamphichet has decisively won the mayoral election in Pattaya. After all 113 polling stations were counted, the candidate from the “We Love Pattaya” group secured more than 60 percent of the votes on the night of June 29, 2026. His lead over the second-place candidate exceeds 8,600 votes.
Landslide Victory with Over 20,000 Votes
The victor, Poramese Ngamphichet, garnered 20,184 votes, representing a 60.6 percent share of the ballots. His closest rival, Itthiwat Wattanasartsathorn, received 11,566 votes, equating to 34.8 percent.
Further behind were Sakchai Tanghor with 1,077 votes (3.2 percent), Suinee Charoensuk with 265 votes (0.8 percent), and Ittipol Niankup Singkhonkaew with 191 votes (0.6 percent).
“We Love Pattaya” Takes Total Council Control
Concurrently with the mayoral race, the “We Love Pattaya” group also swept the election for the Pattaya City Council. The group secured all 24 seats across the city’s four electoral districts.
This gives the group control of both the mayoral office and the city council, effectively eliminating the possibility of political gridlock between the executive and legislative branches.
Disappointing Voter Turnout
Only 34,677 out of 80,196 eligible voters cast their ballots, resulting in a low turnout of only 43.24 percent.
Of the votes cast, 33,283 were deemed valid. Another 589 votes were invalidated, and precisely 805 voters chose the option to “support no candidate.”
Official Confirmation Pending
The figures currently available are unofficial. The Thai Election Commission must first review and officially certify the Pattaya results before they become legally binding.
This step is necessary to finalize Poramese’s decisive mandate. The commission has not yet provided a specific timeline for the official confirmation.
Implications of the Election
Poramese Ngamphichet has won the mayoral office, pending official confirmation. The “We Love Pattaya” group fully controls the city council, which practically rules out political stalemates between the executive and legislative powers.
