PATTAYA, THAILAND – Two Chinese tourists nearly hit pedestrians at a zebra crossing right outside the Pattaya police station. When cops pulled them over, a fight broke out — then their bike slammed into a parked government car.
The pair were riding a black GPX motorcycle with licence plate 4 Kor 1115 from Chonburi on Tuesday evening. Neither was wearing a helmet as they drove through the crossing while people were crossing the road.
Police stop leads to argument
Officers stopped the bike and asked to see the driver’s licence. After telling the tourists to be more careful at crossings, the pair got angry and started arguing with the cops.
One of them then tried to drive away.
Government car damaged in escape attempt
As the bike sped off, it scraped a parked government service car. Both the motorcycle and the official vehicle suffered damage.
Bystanders filmed the whole thing. Police say the footage shows the traffic stop, the escape attempt and the crash.
Incident happened right outside police station
The incident happened around 8.30pm on August 11, 2026, in front of the Pattaya police station. Police Lieutenant Siwakorn Somsura, deputy traffic inspector, was on duty there with traffic cops.
Officers were directing traffic and helping tourists cross the road when they spotted the bike driving through the crossing without helmets.
Driver handed to investigators
Cops arrested the driver and handed him over to investigators at Pattaya police station. He now faces charges for driving without a helmet, driving without a licence and damaging state property.
The legal process will continue according to the law, police said.
