PATTAYA, Thailand – Quick response by firefighters prevented a grass fire along the railway line in South Pattaya from spreading on Sunday evening, with no injuries or damage reported.
Alarm in Jomtien
At 6:13 PM, the Pattaya City Fire Station in Jomtien received calls reporting a fire near the Eisenbahnstraße, close to the entrance of the well-known Four Regions Floating Market. A fire engine and three officers were dispatched immediately to the scene.
The dry embankment alongside the railway line was ablaze, with the heat and rising wind fanning the flames. The proximity to the tourist attraction raised immediate concerns.
Schnelle Nachlöscharbeiten
Firefighters quickly deployed their hoses, dousing the flames before they could reach any adjacent buildings or the popular tourist market. The fire was completely extinguished.
Officials confirmed afterwards that there were no injuries and no property damage occurred. The swift actions of the fire crew were credited with containing the incident.
Feuer-Appell an die Öffentlichkeit
Authorities have since urged the public to remain vigilant. Due to the ongoing dry conditions, roadside grass fires can ignite and spread uncontrollably very rapidly, fueled by heat and wind.
For urgent emergencies, the Jomtien fire station can be reached at 095 1 464 221, and the Pattaya city administration’s hotline is 1337.
