PATTAYA, THAILAND – Chalerm Phrakiat Soi 2 was closed to traffic on two consecutive nights for resurfacing works aimed at improving safety and road quality.
Night closure for asphalt resurfacing
The administration of Pattaya City announced a temporary night-time closure of Chalerm Phrakiat Soi 2 for asphalt concrete works. The measures were scheduled for Monday, 8 December 2025, and Tuesday, 9 December 2025. On both dates, work was to run from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., during which the road was completely closed to vehicles while a new asphalt layer was laid.
Construction company and project goals
The city commissioned Mongkol Construction Co., Ltd. to carry out the work as part of a broader programme to upgrade urban infrastructure in Pattaya. According to officials, the project was expected to significantly improve road quality and enhance safety for drivers and local residents.
“This asphalting project is part of our ongoing commitment to upgrade infrastructure, improve traffic safety and raise the quality of life for everyone in Pattaya.”
said a city spokesperson.
Guidelines for residents and vehicle owners
To keep operations running smoothly, Pattaya City issued clear instructions to residents along Chalerm Phrakiat Soi 2 and asked them to help maintain safety and access to the worksite. Authorities requested that a clearly visible phone number be placed on parked vehicles so staff could quickly contact owners if cars needed to be moved. Residents were also asked to remove items and personal belongings from the street in front of their homes so machinery and workers could operate without obstruction.
Apology for disruption and call for cooperation
The city administration apologized in advance for possible inconvenience caused by night-time construction noise and the closure. At the same time, Pattaya City explicitly thanked the public for its willingness to cooperate with the project. The communication underlined that short-term disruption was intended to deliver longer-term improvements in safety and driving comfort.
Diversions and travel advice for motorists
During the works, drivers had to use alternative routes, and the city advised avoiding Chalerm Phrakiat Soi 2 during the specified hours. Motorists were urged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays caused by the full closure. Information on the duration and scope of the works came from the Engineering Office of Pattaya City.
