PHUKET, Thailand – Drug enforcement officers have seized a substantial quantity of narcotics during a raid in the Kathu district this week. Officers confiscated 451 methamphetamine pills and over 44 grams of Crystal Meth. These substances are classified as controlled substances of the highest category.

The Kathu District Anti-Drug Task Force expanded their ongoing investigations and made a move in the Chalong sub-district. There, officers discovered the stash of narcotics. They seized both the tablets and the crystalline methamphetamine.
Category 1 Hard Drugs
Both substances seized fall under the Thai Narcotics Act. They are listed as Category 1 illegal drugs, making them particularly dangerous and strictly prohibited. The possession and trade of these substances in Thailand are punishable by extremely lengthy prison sentences.
Evidence Secured and Proceedings Initiated
All confiscated drugs were handed over to investigators at the Chalong Police Station by the task force at the scene. Officers immediately initiated a formal complaint procedure. The prosecution of the offenders was directly commenced. The number of individuals apprehended and their identities are not known.
