JOMTIEN, PATTAYA – City enforcement officers caught several tourists camping overnight on Jomtien Beach on July 30 and ordered them to pack up their tents immediately.
Officers from the Jomtien area spotted the visitors preparing to sleep in tents on the public sand during a routine patrol. They approached the tourists directly and explained the municipal rules.
Overnight camping banned at all public beaches
Camping overnight is strictly forbidden at all public beaches in Pattaya City, including Jomtien Beach. The tourists understood the rules and took down their tents without any resistance.
No official eviction notice was needed. The entire situation remained calm and cooperative, according to the officers. The visitors packed their gear and left the beach area voluntarily.
City vows to keep beaches safe and orderly
The city administration stressed that such checks are part of ongoing efforts to keep public beaches safe, orderly, and accessible for everyone. No one should mistake the sandy beach for a free place to sleep, officials said.
Officers will continue their presence at Jomtien Beach and other beaches to prevent similar incidents early. Visitors are advised to use the many official accommodations in the city for overnight stays.
