PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 25-year-old woman died early on 10 November 2025 inside a five-storey apartment building in Soi Pho Sam, after sustaining a fatal wound believed to be self-inflicted.
Early Morning Discovery
At 6:40 a.m. on 10 November 2025, officers from Banglamung Police Station and medics from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation arrived at the ground-floor apartment’s bathroom, where they found the woman unresponsive in a pool of blood. Friends identified her only as “New.” A 20-centimetre Japanese filleting knife lay beside her and was collected as evidence by forensic investigators.
Rescue workers initiated CPR immediately, but the woman succumbed to a single stab wound in the chest, confirmed police at the scene.
Investigation into Relationship Conflict
Investigators questioned her 35-year-old partner, referred to as “Ek”, who said the couple had been in a relationship for six to seven months and were both employed at an entertainment venue on North Pattaya Third Road.
According to Ek, his girlfriend messaged him just after midnight asking him to visit her at work and give her a kiss on the cheek. He declined, citing work commitments, and made what he described as a joking remark about her outfit, which escalated into a serious dispute over text messages.
Timeline from CCTV Evidence
Investigators reconstructed the night’s events using building surveillance footage. The recording showed New returning to her apartment at 4:52 a.m., while Ek arrived at 5:09 a.m. He found the door locked and tried to reach her by phone and by knocking for more than an hour. After getting no response, he called a locksmith at 6:07 a.m., who opened the door and revealed the injured woman.

Police Forensics and Ongoing Examination
Officers from the Forensic Science Division 2 assisted in collecting evidence at the apartment. No signs of forced entry or third-party involvement were found. The victim’s body was transported to the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police confirmed that the young woman had been receiving treatment for depression. They stated that Ek remained under questioning for formal statements, pending forensic confirmation.
