CHONBURI, THAILAND – A suspected relationship dispute turned deadly at a Bo Thong petrol station, leaving two people dead and one critically injured in an early-morning New Year’s Eve shooting.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on 31 December at a petrol station in Bo Thong district, where 30-year-old Mr. Weksan encountered his 31-year-old former partner Ms. Amornrat and her 32-year-old companion, Mr. Noppadon, who were in a Toyota. According to initial police findings, shots were fired with a 9mm pistol in the immediate vicinity of an adjacent coffee shop. A companion of the alleged gunman told officers they had stopped at the station to buy food.
Two dead and one critically injured
In the attack, two people died: Ms. Amornrat was pronounced dead at the scene, and Mr. Weksan was also found dead at the location. Mr. Noppadon sustained severe injuries and was discovered in critical condition. He was rushed to Bo Thong Hospital, where he received intensive care, and doctors classified his condition as critical.
Relationship conflict suspected as motive
Investigators treated the case as a suspected relationship crime, noting that the separation from his former partner had reportedly caused the alleged perpetrator significant emotional distress. According to the statement of his sister, Ms. Yaowalak, he had planned to meet his ex-partner that evening to talk about their past relationship, and the unexpected encounter with her in the company of another man was said to have affected him deeply.

The crime scene was cordoned off extensively by police units, and forensic teams recovered 14 shell casings along with the alleged gunman’s mobile phone.
