Death in a hotel car park
At around 2:30 am on September 20, police received a chilling call: a woman’s body lay in the car park of a seven-storey hotel in Bangkok’s Wattana district. Lieutenant Chakrapong Pitakgornsakul of Lumpini Police Station rushed to the scene with forensic experts and doctors from Chulalongkorn Hospital.
The victim, just 25 years old, had suffered multiple fractures and severe head injuries. Investigators believe she fell from the seventh floor, where the hotel’s pool area is located. Her body was later transferred for autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
Cannabis session before the fall
Police say the victim’s boyfriend witnessed the incident. According to his account, the couple had been smoking cannabis with another male friend shortly before the tragedy. Afterwards, she allegedly told him she wanted to die, walked to the balcony, and jumped.
Officers are now questioning him closely while reviewing hotel CCTV footage and collecting evidence from the room. At this stage, it remains unclear whether the fall was an intentional act, a tragic accident, or if further factors were involved.
Tourist hotspot shaken
The death occurred in Sukhumvit, one of Bangkok’s busiest districts, famous for nightlife and international visitors. News of the tragedy spread quickly, casting a shadow over the area’s bustling streets.
Authorities are contacting the woman’s family through her home country’s embassy. Toxicology tests will also be conducted to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in her final moments.
