PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 37-year-old motorcycle-taxi driver struck a 52-year-old Indian tourist outside the Runway Market on Pattaya Second Road late on October 13, leaving the visitor unconscious with a serious head injury, police said.
The altercation
The incident began shortly before midnight when the taxi driver, identified as Mr. Kritsada (nickname “Ball”), confronted the tourist as he appeared to be about to urinate in public near the market entrance. According to police accounts, the man from India shouted back and spat at Kritsada. The driver then lost his temper and hit the tourist once in the face. The victim fell and struck his head on the ground, sustaining a severe injury.
Police response and arrest
Officers led by Police Lieutenant Arut Saphanon reviewed nearby CCTV footage, identified the attacker and arrested him within hours. During questioning the 37-year-old admitted the blow, saying, “It was a brief loss of control.” He was charged with physical assault and handed to investigators.

The tourist was immediately rendered unconscious. His companions called for help and emergency services took him to hospital with what authorities described as a serious head wound. Officials have not released further details about his current medical condition.
