PHUKET, THAILAND – A 41-year-old Polish tourist triggered a second violent incident near Phuket International Airport on 9 November, forcing police intervention. Video evidence released by a local hotel owner showed him attempting to stab another guest just days after an earlier knife threat against staff.
Police respond to new hotel confrontation
Hotel owner (name withheld) said the man had checked out shortly before the altercation began at her property near Phuket International Airport on 9 November.
“He argued with a neighbouring guest and tried to stab him,”
said the hotel owner.
Police officers arrived at the hotel minutes later. They ordered the man to leave the premises after forcing him to check out. Authorities have not confirmed whether criminal proceedings will follow.
Local warning issued
The same hotel owner has warned other accommodation operators to be alert and described the suspect’s distinctive appearance. She noted that he is bald, often walks barefoot and travels with two cats.
“Vorsicht vor diesem Mann!”
said the hotel owner while urging colleagues to safeguard their properties.
Previous violent episode reported
According to the owner and witnesses, the same tourist had threatened hotel employees with a knife the previous week after being told that pets were not allowed. One staff member described the terrifying moment of that earlier outburst.
“Er zog ein Messer und drohte, uns umzubringen,”
said a hotel employee who witnessed the attack.
Residents demand deportation
Social media users across Phuket province have demanded immediate deportation. Many posts on local networks called for a psychiatric evaluation and questioned the lack of enforcement action.
Among messages circulating online, one read:
“Schiebt ihn ab, bevor er jemanden umbringt!”
said a Phuket resident via social media.
Police silence raises concern
As of mid-November, Phuket Police provided no official update on charges or procedures. The man remains at large, and pressure on law enforcement continues to mount.
