BANGKOK, THAILAND – Police raided an unregistered pub in Wang Thonglang district, arresting 11 Myanmar nationals and a Thai operator for drug use and licensing offences.
Around 01:30 on Sunday, officers stormed a building on Pradit Manutham 2 Road. Inside, revellers were dancing to loud music. The venue was not registered as an entertainment spot.
Police storm party in unregistered pub
The raid caught the partygoers off guard. Officers found evidence of drug use and unlicensed beer being served.
About half a gram of ketamine and drug paraphernalia were seized. Eleven Myanmar nationals were taken into custody.
11 Myanmar nationals and one youth arrested
Among the arrested guests was one teenager under 18. Police said they had taken drugs and consumed ketamine.
Some of the 11 could not produce passports. They were charged with drug abuse.
Thai operator faces multiple charges
The Thai operator was arrested for tolerating drug use and allowing a minor into the illegal venue.
Further charges include selling alcohol without a licence, illegal operation of the premises, and opening and serving drinks outside legal hours.
