BANGLAMUNG, THAILAND – A 37-year-old woman from Rayong was found dead after a fall from a high-rise condo in Na Kluea, as police investigated accident, suicide and possible foul play.
Location of the body and emergency response
The incident was reported on 11 April 2026 at 10:36 p.m., after a person was said to have fallen from a great height. Police, rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya and forensic teams from Chonburi were dispatched to the 21-storey residential building in the Na Kluea area of Banglamung district.
They secured the scene around the high-rise to begin initial investigations. Officers focused on reconstructing the sequence of events leading up to the fatal fall.
First findings at the scene
The deceased, a 37-year-old woman identified only by the first name “Chommai”, was found next to the building. She wore a long blue nightgown, and rescue personnel noted injuries that were believed to have resulted from the fall.
Investigators documented the position of the body and clothing as potential evidence. They also surveyed the surrounding area for items that might indicate how she had left the building.
Injuries and early forensic questions
In addition to the presumed fall injuries, investigators found wounds on the body that forensic experts believed might not have been caused by the impact. This raised questions about whether a third party could have been involved before the fall.
An autopsy was ordered to determine the precise cause of death. Forensic results were expected to clarify whether external force had been used.
Statement from Italian acquaintance
Police questioned a 65-year-old Italian man, Mr Gabellini, who stated that he had been in his room on the 20th floor while the woman was still alive.
“I later learned about the fall and went downstairs to identify her,”
said Mr Gabellini, Italian acquaintance.
“There were no sexual relations, and she had broken off contact three days earlier,”
said Mr Gabellini, Italian acquaintance.
Information from neighbours
Residents told officers that the two had appeared to have a close relationship. According to neighbours, the man lived on the 20th floor, while the deceased woman resided on the 4th floor.
Neighbours described the woman as withdrawn and mentioned possible depression. At the same time, it initially remained unclear from which floor she had fallen and how the fall had occurred.
Evidence collection and possible jump point
Police cordoned off the area to prevent unauthorised access and to secure traces. As a key piece of evidence, a pair of flip-flops attributed to the woman was found on the 14th floor and seized.
Investigators treated the footwear as a possible indication of the floor from which she might have exited the building. They examined corridors and balconies in that area for additional marks or objects.
Autopsy and review of video footage
The body was transported for autopsy to establish the exact cause of death. Results were expected to show whether the injuries were consistent with a fall alone.
At the same time, the investigation team coordinated the review of witness statements and available CCTV footage. According to initial information, video coverage was limited in some parts of the building, potentially complicating the reconstruction of the woman’s final movements.
