NAKHON RATCHASIMA, THAILAND – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul landed at Wing 1 air base Friday in a private jet. Three F-16s escorted the aircraft in a simulated VIP protection mission. Anutin reviewed the unit’s combat readiness.
The premier touched down at the air force base flanked by fighter jets. Two F-16s flew alongside his aircraft while a third positioned itself above.
Three F-16s simulate protection mission
As Anutin’s plane entered the base’s airspace, two F-16s flew next to the aircraft. A third fighter jet positioned itself above.
The jets simulated protection of a VIP aircraft before landing at the base. Anutin reviewed the combat readiness of Wing 1 air base.
Air force shows air combat operations
After arrival, the prime minister took a salute from an honour guard. He then watched demonstrations of tactical air force operations.
The display included simulated operations against ground and aerial targets using F-16 fighter jets. Anutin observed the air force’s air combat capabilities.
Top brass receives the prime minister
Anutin was received by air force chief Seksan Khantha, Defence Minister Adul Boonthamcharoen and permanent defence secretary Tharapong Malakam.
Armed forces chief of staff Ukrit Boontanont and senior military officers also attended the visit. Anutin also chairs the National Security Council.
Anutin praises service for sovereignty
Speaking before Wing 1 personnel, the prime minister praised the unit for its contribution to protecting Thai sovereignty. He highlighted tactical combat operations given the security situation along the border.
Anutin commended the commanders, personnel and staff for their sacrifice and dedication. He also acknowledged their role in giving the public a sense of security.
The government is ready to fully support the air force so it can maintain its highest capability.
said Anutin. He called strengthening air force capabilities, especially fighter jet operations, an important national security priority.
Helicopter shows rescue mission
The prime minister also inspected tactical military equipment. The programme included a demonstration of a combat search and rescue mission using an H225M helicopter.
Anutin called on personnel to maintain readiness and commitment to protecting sovereignty and national interests. He earlier thanked staff for their unity, patriotism and dedication to the public interest.
