PATTAYA, THAILAND – A pickup left the road on a sharp curve in Huay Yai and overturned in a forest strip at dusk, with the driver rescued with only minor injuries.
Dusk crash near Huay Yai temple
The accident occurred on 14 December 2025 at around 6:10 p.m. on Chaiyapruek 2 Road near the Wat Inthanaram (Wat Chak Nok) temple in the Huay Yai subdistrict. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue centre in Pattaya received a report of a single-vehicle pickup crash in which the vehicle had left the roadway.
Pickup found overturned in roadside forest
When emergency crews arrived, they found the crashed vehicle already off the road in a wooded curve along the roadside. A white Ford pickup lay deep in the undergrowth on its side, showing clear signs of impact and rollover.
Driver trapped and freed with minor injuries
Rescue workers and helpful bystanders worked together to free the driver, who was trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle. The man, identified by authorities only as “Mr. Don”, about 50 years old, was eventually pulled from the wreck with light injuries but showed clear signs of alcohol influence.
Witness describes near miss
An eyewitness, 35-year-old security guard Wutthichai Wangruamklang, described how the crash unfolded as he was driving home from work when the pickup approached him in the curve.
“The pickup moved into my lane, then suddenly shot across the road and crashed into the forest strip.”
said Wutthichai, security guard.
He said he swerved in time to avoid a collision and then immediately alerted the rescue services.
Police probe alcohol and dangerous curve
Authorities began their investigation at the scene and initially considered alcohol influence or loss of control in the dangerous curve as possible causes. The route was regarded as demanding due to the sharp curve and the adjacent forest area, and investigators aimed to determine how the driver’s condition and the road layout contributed to the crash.
Warnings for drivers on risky stretch
Emergency responders pointed out that increased caution was required particularly at dusk and in unclear curves. They highlighted the stretch as a risk area with sharp bends and forest strips and warned of the heightened danger when alcohol was involved and oncoming traffic approached in poor visibility.
