HUA HIN, THAILAND – The Provincial Electricity Authority announced scheduled maintenance and a temporary power outage affecting parts of Hua Hin in early April 2026.
Power interruption scheduled for 8 April
The Hua Hin branch of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) stated that some areas of Hua Hin would experience a temporary power outage on 8 April 2026. The announcement covered only selected zones, with no additional details on specific streets beyond the broader work areas described.
The agency advised residents and motorists to avoid the affected routes and zones during the shutdown period whenever possible. According to the PEA, this was intended to reduce inconvenience and support the safety of work crews and road users.
Cleaning works on 7 April without shutdown
In addition, the PEA announced cleaning works on high-voltage electrical facilities for 7 April. These activities were scheduled as part of routine maintenance on the power infrastructure in Hua Hin.
According to the PEA, the cleaning operations were not expected to cause any power outages. The authority nevertheless asked people in the vicinity of the work to pay attention to safety instructions on the road.
Work zone: Clock Tower to Chao Samran Hotel (east side)
One cleaning section covered the area from the Clock Tower to the Chao Samran Hotel on the east side. Work teams planned to operate along this stretch while the power remained on.
The PEA pointed out that spray water could occur within the work zones and urged road users to be particularly vigilant. The authority noted that drivers should remain alert to changing surface conditions along this part of the route.
Work zone: Hua Don – Khao Takiab – Hua Don
Another section included the route through the Hua Don community via the Khao Takiab community and back to the Hua Don community. This loop formed a second focus of the high-voltage equipment cleaning.
Here as well, the PEA warned that water might be sprayed in the active work areas. Motorists were asked to take extra care when passing workers and equipment positioned near the roadway.
Work zone: Nong Kae rail crossing to municipal intersection (west side)
Cleaning works were also planned from the bridge at the Nong Kae railway crossing to the municipal intersection on the west side. This corridor formed another key section of the scheduled maintenance.
The PEA requested that travelers drive with particular caution when passing through these zones and, where possible, use alternative routes. The agency stressed that rerouting traffic could ease congestion and lower the risk of accidents during the works.
Safety warning: spray water and traffic
The PEA warned that spray water could appear in all of the named work areas. This could affect visibility and road surface conditions along the routes where cleaning was carried out.
“Anyone who still needs to use these routes should adjust their speed and exercise additional caution.”
said the PEA, referring to the traffic situation during the maintenance period.
