PATTAYA, Thailand – Tourist police in Pattaya intervened in two separate cases to assist vacationers in distress.
Desperate search for lost property
In the first instance, a foreign tourist approached officers for assistance after filing a report for lost property, finding themselves unable to proceed further. The police, accompanied by interpreters and trainees, clarified the progress of the procedure and explained the complex legal processes to the vacationer. Rather than taking over the case themselves, the officers directed the tourist to the responsible investigator. They advised the tourist to inquire there independently to expedite the process and avoid wasting valuable time.
Fear of an acquaintance
Almost simultaneously, another foreign visitor reported significant security concerns. The tourist stated they were being harassed by someone they knew and described such an oppressive sense of fear that they could barely leave their accommodation. The involved officers extensively advised the victim on their rights and potential legal steps. Their urgent recommendation was to file an official complaint at the local police station to officially document the incident.
App and hotline as lifesavers
The Tourist Police emphasized their crucial role in direct communication and providing access to legal avenues for visitors in Pattaya. They ensure that foreign guests are not left alone in emergencies and that their concerns are taken seriously. For rapid assistance, vacationers can use the nationwide hotline 1155 around the clock, as well as the Thailand Tourist Police Application (TPB App) and the POLICE CARE App. This allows affected individuals to request support immediately before a situation escalates.
