PATTAYA, THAILAND – A large-scale year-end light festival transformed eleven key locations into a sea of lights dedicated to Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
Official opening with city leadership
The official opening took place on 19 December 2025 at 7 p.m., led by Mayor Poramese Ngampichet together with Banglamung District Chief Anusak Piriyom, city officials, council members and other local office-holders. In front of a visibly cheerful crowd, the festival was launched under the motto “PATTAYA THE SEALEBRATION OF LIGHT AND LEGACY.” The city aimed to create a festive year-end atmosphere while honoring the achievements of Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
Focus on Queen Mother’s contributions
The event explicitly highlighted the Queen Mother’s contribution to culture, health, nature conservation and education, combining festive entertainment with a clear thematic focus. A core element consisted of two special exhibitions. At Jomtien Beach, one exhibition presented her commitment to Thai textiles, public health, forest protection, traditional Khon stage performances and educational projects.
Exhibitions on marine conservation
At the Dusit Curve, another exhibition focused on the restoration of the marine environment and the protection of sea turtles. The light installations along the coast and at key junctions were designed as installations and photo spots to attract both residents and tourists. According to city representatives, the program was intended to underline Pattaya’s role as a location for nights with entertainment of international standard.
Eleven locations turned into a sea of lights
For the festival, Pattaya transformed central traffic arteries, beaches and squares into a large-scale illuminated landscape. Among the locations lit up were the central reservation of Sukhumvit Road in central and north Pattaya, the area under the highway overpass, the median strip of North Pattaya Road and Pattaya City Hall. Also illuminated were Lan Pho Public Park in Naklua, the Dolphin Roundabout, the archway in front of the OZO Hotel, the Dusit Curve, Pattaya Beach Road and Jomtien Beach.
Schedule and extended New Year’s Eve hours
The lighting was scheduled to be switched on daily from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. during the festival period from 19 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. On New Year’s Eve, from the night of 31 December to 1 January 2026, the illuminations were to remain on until 5 a.m., making the sea of lights visible for several extra hours. City representatives invited all visitors to immerse themselves in the illuminated scenery, stating:
