PATTAYA, THAILAND – The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya held a New Year reception to honor its rescue personnel after an exceptionally busy year 2025.
City leaders join traditional New Year gathering
The annual meeting took place on 17 January 2026 on the grounds of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation. It was led by Prasit Thongthitcharoen, president of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Unit in Pattaya, together with the foundation’s board. The atmosphere was described by the organizers as warm and marked by camaraderie.
Mayor and regional officials attend ceremony
Guest of honor was Poramese Ngampichet, mayor of Pattaya, who presided over the ceremony. Among the guests were Natthawat Sophonsewasil, district chief of Bang Lamung, Nakorn Phol Luk In from the Chonburi provincial administration, Chaowalit Saenguthai, candidate for the House of Representatives for the Bhumjaithai Party, and Jidapa Suwatthaphorn from the Pattaya City Council.
17,847 callouts and thousands trained in CPR
In his address, Prasit Thongthitcharoen highlighted the heavy workload faced by the teams. Over the past twelve months, the rescue unit responded to 17,847 operations, averaging more than 1,400 cases per month. In addition to emergency response, the foundation transported over 600 deceased persons to forensic institutes and transferred more than 70 bodies to their hometowns.
Extensive training to strengthen community response
At the affiliated learning center, 136 courses in basic resuscitation (CPR) were held, attended by more than 20,000 people. Prasit stressed that the New Year meeting was a firm tradition to strengthen cohesion and boost the morale of permanent staff and volunteers.

Awards, dinner and prize draw
As a token of appreciation, the foundation hosted a festive dinner. Rescue workers, volunteers and staff of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received special recognition for their efforts. According to the organizers, the evening was filled with laughter, joy and a strong sense of appreciation, leaving a lasting impression on participants.
Lottery with household goods and cash
Following the honors, a large raffle took place. Prizes included televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, fans, gift baskets and cash rewards. The organizers emphasized that the variety of prizes underlined the foundation’s desire to give something tangible back to its rescue teams and volunteers.
Key pillar of emergency and humanitarian services
The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation was regarded in Pattaya as a central pillar of emergency care and humanitarian assistance. According to the organization, its work went far beyond regular mandatory tasks. With regard to the high number of operations and the intensive training and education, representatives of the foundation underscored how important recognition is for the many volunteers.
