PATTAYA, THAILAND – Two deputy mayors in Pattaya used their first joint public appearance to support a digital training session for older residents at city hall.
New deputy mayor introduced to seniors
On 2 December 2025, Deputy Mayor Wutthisak Rermkijakarn and newly sworn-in Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn visited the Thapphraya Meeting Room at Pattaya City Hall in the morning, accompanied by members of the mayor’s secretariat. Wutthisak used the occasion to formally introduce his colleague, who had taken office only on 1 December 2025. The seniors present received them in a calm and friendly atmosphere.
‘Pattaya Happy Aging School’ provides holistic approach
The visit coincided with a full-day practical training under the “Pattaya Happy Aging School – Batch 4” program. The initiative followed a holistic health concept covering physical, mental, social and cognitive aspects. Its aim was to equip older people with practical modern skills, strengthen social contacts and help them adapt to rapid digital change.
‘Cyber Seniors’ workshop builds digital skills
The current session ran under the title “Cyber Seniors: The Art of Photography and Basic Photo-Editing Apps.” It was organized by the Health Promotion Division of Pattaya’s Department of Public Health and Environment, with experts from Mahidol University serving as specialist lecturers. More than 100 older participants gained basic digital competencies, including the use of Line to create personal stickers, taking part in online quizzes via Google Forms, smartphone photography techniques, simple mindfulness and movement games, and light exercise to music.
Feedback and reflection close the training day
The event concluded with reflection rounds and a final survey conducted via Google Forms. According to organizers, this structure was intended to consolidate what participants had learned and gather suggestions for future sessions. The feedback was collected directly from the seniors to improve upcoming batches of the program.
Officials highlight age-friendly city goal
Lt. Col. Female Laphassarin Satharakul, Director of the Health Promotion Division, expressed her gratitude to the two deputy mayors for their presence and support.
“These initiatives stand for Pattaya’s clear goal of becoming an age-friendly city.”
said Laphassarin, Director of the Health Promotion Division. She added that such offerings demonstrated that older people could live actively, with dignity and joy.
Commitment to improving quality of life
The two deputy mayors praised the strong motivation shown by the participants.

said Wutthisak Rermkijakarn, deputy mayor. City officials indicated that similar activities would remain a priority as the population ages and the need for digital inclusion increases.
