PATTAYA, THAILAND – City officials and the Eastern Economic Corridor Office took another step in planning a new multimodal transport hub at Pattaya’s future high-speed rail station.
City hall meeting on transport hub plans
Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai received a delegation from the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EEC) at Pattaya City Hall on 18 November 2025. The group was led by Phakphum Kaewkhuean, director of the Public-Private Partnership Contract Management Office for the high-speed rail project linking three airports. The talks in meeting room 231 reviewed progress on the ongoing feasibility study and preliminary design for a “Multimodal Transit Hub” around the planned station.
Focus on seamless multimodal connections
The project centred on how to create a transport node that would efficiently connect several modes of travel. The study examined the future high-speed rail line as the main axis, links to public bus services, and the potential integration of a future light rail system. It also considered the role of private vehicles in access and parking concepts, as well as requirements for freight and logistics traffic.
Aligning with Pattaya’s long-term vision
In parallel, participants aimed to develop structures that matched Pattaya’s long-term vision of becoming a leading hub for tourism, investment and logistics in the eastern region. According to the officials, the new node was expected to support this positioning by improving connectivity between key economic areas. They said the hub would be designed with an eye to future growth in visitor numbers and commercial activity.
Key element of Smart Mobility City concept
According to Manoch Nongyai, the planned multimodal hub would play a central role once the high-speed rail line entered service.

said Manoch Nongyai, deputy mayor. The new node was intended to significantly raise travel efficiency, ease traffic congestion in the city and help establish Pattaya as a Smart Mobility City.
Support for sustainable urban development
Manoch stated that the facility was expected to become a cornerstone of sustainable urban development in the region. Officials saw the project as part of a broader shift towards more integrated and environmentally conscious mobility. They emphasized that the hub’s design would take into account long-term urban growth patterns.
Feasibility study enters detailed phase
The ongoing feasibility study moved into a more in-depth, detailed phase. In this stage, results were to be further refined and then submitted to the relevant authorities and decision-makers. Based on these evaluations, the next procedural steps would include additional consultations and approvals to prepare for implementation of the hub at the future Pattaya high-speed rail station.
