NONTHABURI, THAILAND – A 31-year-old man filed a police complaint after alleging he was forced into a vehicle and taken to Bangkok, where he was attacked again.
Complaint filed after hospital treatment
The man, identified in Thai media as Nawi, submitted his complaint on 20 March at the Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station. Before going to police, he had received medical treatment at Phra Nang Klao Hospital.
According to his account, doctors documented multiple injuries. Police registered the complaint and opened an investigation.
Background: Phone call on 17 March
The incident reportedly stemmed from a phone call on 17 March. A man named Safi, who introduced himself as the brother of Nawi’s then-girlfriend, allegedly demanded that Nawi end the relationship because the woman was already married.
Nawi said he agreed and believed the matter was settled. Two days later, in the early hours of 19 March, the situation changed.
Pickup outside the house at around 4:30 a.m.
On 19 March at about 4:30 a.m., Nawi said he encountered three men waiting in a pickup truck in front of his home while he was on his way to morning prayers. He recognised them as Safi, Safi’s brother-in-law Mai and a friend named Hasan.
According to Nawi, Safi confirmed his identity using a photo on a mobile phone before he and Mai forced him into the vehicle under threat of violence. Nawi stated that he did not know where he was being taken.
Drive to Bangkok and second attack
The vehicle drove toward the Ramkhamhaeng area of Bangkok, according to Nawi’s account. There, he said he was attacked first in front of a house and then again inside the building.
Nawi alleged that a man named Babula, whom he described as his ex-girlfriend’s father, also participated in the assaults. Police were reviewing these claims as part of their investigation.
Escape and route to hospital
At around 7 a.m., Nawi said he managed to escape when those present were distracted. He took a taxi to his mother’s home and later went to Phra Nang Klao Hospital for medical care.
That same day, he went to the police station. Broadcaster CH7 News first reported on the case and quoted his appeal to the authorities:
“I want the alleged attackers to be identified and prosecuted.”

Parallel case in Rayong with no arrests
At the same time, a similar case was reported in Rayong province. A man there was allegedly attacked by several people, including his own wife, according to local media reports.
More than two weeks after that incident, the responsible Rayong police station had not reported any arrests. Observers noted that both cases raised concerns about how violence in private settings was being pursued under criminal law.
Investigation status and legal context
The Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station accepted Nawi’s complaint. He accused the named individuals of unlawful detention, armed threats and bodily harm, allegations now under review by the Thai justice system.
At the time of reporting, police had not announced any arrests in connection with the Nonthaburi or Rayong cases. Investigators did not make any public statements about the status of their inquiries.
