BANGKOK, THAILAND – A routine bus ride on Sukhumvit Road turned into a knife scare that ended without injuries thanks to the composure of the crew.
Knife drawn in rush-hour traffic
Commuters were travelling on one of Bangkok’s busiest arteries when a woman reportedly took a knife from her bag and moved toward the conductor. The situation could have escalated quickly, but the bus staff remained calm and focused. The conductor even urged passengers to document the incident for evidence.
“Please film this,”
said the conductor, seeking proof for later, a level of composure that appeared to prevent panic among those on board.
Driver intervenes and removes attacker
While the conductor watched the woman and directed passengers, the bus driver left his seat and approached her. He managed to overpower the woman and bring the confrontation under control. Together, driver and conductor escorted her safely off the bus and left her at the roadside at the next opportunity, and no injuries were reported.
A passenger who recorded the scene later praised the crew’s restraint.
“They risked their own safety,”
said the passenger, who highlighted their actions as decisive.

Footage of the incident posted on TikTok triggered heated discussions online. Many users called on the BMTA transport authority to formally commend the driver and conductor.

Last year, a 19-year-old drew attention when he brandished a knife and argued with passengers on a Bangkok bus; police later found additional knives and drugs on him.
