CHONBURI, THAILAND – Khao Kheow Open Zoo announced plans for a lively three-day “Zoo Halloween Party” from October 31 to November 2, 2025, promising a mix of animal fun, family-friendly attractions, and evening discounts to draw both locals and tourists.
Family fun and animal-friendly festivities
According to Sri Sak Suk Chum, Assistant Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, the annual event was designed to offer memorable and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. Festivities will take place at the Tourist Service Center, featuring decorated photo booths with Halloween props, masks, hats, and temporary tattoos.
Visitors can join the “Snap & Share” challenge by capturing creative photos in the Halloween zone, posting them on the zoo’s official Facebook page (สวนสัตว์เปิดเขาเขียว) under the event post, and tagging #KhaoKheowHalloween68 and #สวนสัตว์เปิดเขาเขียว. Participants will receive free Halloween-themed candy and toys, available while supplies last.
Animals join the celebration
The zoo’s famous residents will also take part in the festivities. Beloved hippo Mu Deng and the group of giant capybaras will be treated to special seasonal snacks such as pumpkin carvings and ghost-shaped watermelons, creating festive moments for guests to photograph. The idea, organizers said, was to let visitors witness enrichment activities that combine celebration with animal care.
Costumes, creativity and community
The zoo has extended an open invitation to families, tourists, and locals to arrive in creative fancy dress or ghostly costumes, encouraging a shared sense of humor and community spirit. Multiple photo spots will be spread throughout the zoo grounds to give guests plenty of scenic backdrops for their Halloween selfies.
