Police Doubt Indian Tourist’s Claim After Pattaya Robbery
A 60-year-old Indian tourist reports being robbed by two trans women in Pattaya, but police express doubts about his account.
Chemical Attack and Swift Robbery in Hotel Room
Satish, 60, tells Pattaya police he is attacked in his hotel room in South Pattaya after accepting sex services from a trans woman he meets late at night.
He claims that after sex, an argument breaks out, prompting the woman to leave—only to return minutes later with an accomplice. Satish alleges one of the trans women sprays a chemical in his face, causing severe eye irritation and temporary blindness.
“I couldn’t see anything,” Satish says. “They took everything while I was helpless.”
The suspects reportedly steal 7,000 Baht in cash, a mobile phone, and his room key. Satish says the ordeal lasts less than two minutes and leaves him with an injured elbow.
Police Skeptical of Tourist’s Story
Pattaya police are not fully convinced by Satish’s account. Officers review hotel and street CCTV footage to verify his statements.
One officer suggests Satish may have other motives for reporting the incident, such as a possible insurance claim. “We need to confirm the facts before taking further action,” a police spokesperson says.
Similar Incident Involving Indian Tourist
Just two weeks earlier, another Indian tourist in Pattaya reports being robbed by trans women. In that case, the suspects allegedly steal a gold chain worth over 100,000 Baht after approaching the victim under the guise of offering services.
The pattern raises concerns about targeted thefts, but also about the accuracy of such reports.
Investigation Ongoing Amid Community Concerns
If Satish’s claims prove true, the suspects could face charges of robbery, assault, and trespassing. The use of chemicals may lead to more severe penalties.
However, if police find inconsistencies, Satish himself could face charges for making a false report. Authorities stress they will rely on CCTV evidence before moving forward.
