BANGKOK, Thailand – Gold prices experienced extreme volatility on June 11th, with a significant drop recorded at the end of the trading day.
41 Anpassungen an einem einzigen Tag
The Gold Traders Association reported a highly turbulent trading day for gold. The price was adjusted a staggering 41 times before closing with a substantial loss of 1,100 Baht compared to the previous day. Trading floors in gold shops had to be updated almost by the minute.
By the end of the day, a significant price drop was evident. The price for a Baht-bar fell to a selling value of 63,950 Baht. This indicates a sharp decline in the market value of gold.
Goldbarren: Ankauf und Verkauf stabil im Fokus
For individuals looking to sell their physical gold, a one-Baht bar currently fetches 63,750 Baht for buyers. Those looking to purchase will pay 63,950 Baht for the same bar. The difference between buying and selling prices for bars remained narrow.
This narrow margin makes gold bars attractive to traders aiming for quick profits. The stability in the buy and sell prices of bars, despite the day’s volatility, highlights their consistent trading appeal.
Goldschmuck: So tief greift der Fertigungslohn in die Tasche
When it comes to gold jewelry, the full impact of manufacturing costs becomes apparent. The buying price for jewelry is significantly lower than for bars, currently at 62,474.36 Baht. In terms of selling, the price tag is a steep 64,750 Baht per Baht weight.
The cost of labor drives up the price of jewelry. For a 1-Baht chain without stones, a surcharge of 800 Baht is added, increasing the price from 63,950 Baht to 64,750 Baht. This illustrates the additional expense incurred through craftsmanship.
Kleine Stückelung, großer Aufschlag
For lighter pieces of jewelry, the proportion of manufacturing costs is particularly high. A half-Salung piece (0.5 Salung) has a gold value of only 7,993.75 Baht. However, with labor costs included, the same pendant costs 8,793.75 Baht.
This represents an additional charge of 800 Baht, which, proportionally, is a multiple of the price increase for a full Baht piece. This highlights how smaller, more intricate items bear a larger percentage increase due to labor.
Die Preisstaffel in der Übersicht
From the smallest units to heavy two-Baht jewelry pieces, surcharges are consistently applied. A Salung piece, with a gold value of 15,987.50 Baht, is sold for 16,787.50 Baht. For two Salungs, the price increases from 31,975 Baht to 32,775 Baht.
The general rule observed is that the higher the weight, the lower the craftsmanship surcharge per Baht becomes. This pricing structure reflects the economies of scale in production.
Die schweren Brocken: Fünf Baht am Stück
For a substantial five-Baht piece of jewelry, the cost is 319,750 Baht. Including manufacturing costs, the total sum rises to 323,750 Baht. The Gold Traders Association emphasizes that all jewelry prices are rough estimates and do not constitute binding trade offers.
