PATTAYA, Thailand – A Dutch tourist reported a theft on Pattaya Beach overnight, leading to a police investigation.
Spaziergang endet mit Annäherungsversuchen
A 53-year-old tourist from the Netherlands filed a police report on the night of June 12th after his gold chain, valued at approximately €4,000, was stolen at Pattaya Beach. The man suspects a group of “Ladyboys” took advantage of close physical contact during a conversation to discreetly remove the chain.
He had left his hotel in Pattaya Soi 9 around 12:45 AM for a night walk along the beach. While walking towards Central Pattaya, between Soi 7 and Soi 9, he was approached by two to three “Ladyboys.” They initiated a conversation, hugged the tourist, and offered sexual services. He declined their advances, and they left. At that moment, he noticed nothing unusual.
Nach Rückkehr fehlt die Goldkette
It was only upon returning to his hotel that the Dutch national realized his gold chain was missing. After checking his belongings, he concluded that the “Ladyboys” must have used the close body contact to remove the jewelry without him noticing.
Around 3:30 AM, accompanied by a Thai female friend, he arrived at the Pattaya City Police Station to report the alleged theft. He stated the value of the stolen chain was about €4,000.
Polizei wertet Kameraaufnahmen aus
Investigators from the Pattaya City Police inspected the area where the incident reportedly occurred that same night. Police officers also secured surveillance camera footage from the vicinity in an effort to identify the suspects.
There have been no arrests made so far. The police are examining whether there is a connection to similar thefts in the area and are working to trace the movements of the alleged perpetrators.
