According to Patong police, the blaze started at around 7:45 a.m. in the premises of the Moulin Rouge club, located above the Dublin Irish Pub on the busy Bangla Road. Officers from Patong Police Station and local firefighters arrived quickly and brought the flames under control. Police confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

Police and management recount emergency response

Pol Lt Col Somprasong Labaisai, deputy head of the investigation division at Patong Police Station, said he was notified of the fire while on duty and went straight to the scene.

“When I arrived, firefighters had already extinguished the fire.”

said Somprasong, deputy head of investigations.

The restaurant director, identified as 43‑year‑old foreign national Sergii Gudz, told police he had been informed about the fire by a friend and rushed to the club.

“When I arrived, the fire had already been put out.”

said Gudz, the restaurant director.

Forensic experts called in to determine cause

Investigators requested forensic specialists to determine the exact cause of the fire. So far, there was no confirmation regarding the extent of the damage or what triggered the blaze, officials said.

No injuries, damage and cause still unclear

According to investigators, the situation remained as follows:

Impact on Phuket nightlife hub

Bangla Road in Patong was regarded as one of Phuket’s main entertainment districts, with bars, clubs and restaurants packed closely together. The incident at Moulin Rouge therefore affected a well-known venue in a central location.

Specific information on possible effects on the ongoing operations of nearby businesses was initially not available. Authorities said they were focusing primarily on determining the cause of the fire and the pattern of damage at the affected club.
