BAYAHIBE, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – A devastating fire at a beach resort claimed the life of a 46-year-old Italian tourist and led to the evacuation of nearly 1,700 people.
The blaze erupted on Friday at the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach Hotel in Bayahibe. Emergency responders evacuated approximately 1,700 guests, and three individuals required medical attention.
