PATTAYA, THAILAND – A drunken late-night dispute among Russian tourists in Jomtien ended with one man unconscious on the pavement and an unexpected group reconciliation.
Emergency call after late-night brawl
An emergency call was received at about 11:06 p.m. on 8 January 2026 about a fight outside a convenience store in the Jomtien area of Pattaya. Rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan arrived to find seven Russian tourists gathered around an injured friend who had been drinking with them after buying alcohol. Witnesses said the mood had initially been cheerful, but a trivial dispute flared into a fight after the group left the shop and bottles were thrown, shattering on the ground.
Punch misses target and fells peacemaker
Two men from the group then began to attack each other as women and another friend tried to break up the fight. In the chaos, one of the men swung a punch that missed its intended opponent and instead struck the friend who had stepped in to calm the situation. The unintended victim collapsed unconscious and hit his head on the asphalt, suffering a head wound.
Injured man refuses hospital treatment
Paramedics provided first aid at the scene until the injured tourist regained consciousness. To their surprise, he firmly refused to be taken to hospital for further examination and treatment. The account emphasized that a fall onto the head was always risky and could easily have led to more serious consequences.
Police close case with no charges
After the commotion subsided, the tourists sat down together and talked through the incident, ending in a warm reconciliation with hugs and explanations. They then left the area together and returned to their accommodation, and no complaint was filed with the police. The Pattaya City Police regarded the matter as closed and made no arrests.
