PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 24-year-old pickup driver and his 25-year-old passenger suffered broken arms when their vehicle struck a pole and overturned on Highway 331 in Banglamung on 16 November 2025.
Two injured people received treatment at Pattaya Hospital after rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya responded to the Highway 331 crash in Banglamung, Chonburi province, at around 7:00 a.m. on 16 November 2025.
Pickup overturned after impact with roadside pole
Rescue dispatchers at the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received the emergency call at about 7:00 a.m. on 16 November 2025, reporting a white Mitsubishi Triton that had collided with a roadside pole on the city-bound lanes towards Bo Win on Highway 331 in Banglamung. Several rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center reached the Highway 331 crash site in Banglamung within minutes and found the pickup lying on its side with the front section heavily crushed after the impact with the pole.
Rescue personnel at the Banglamung crash scene reported that the collision with the roadside mast on Highway 331 had torn parts of the vehicle body and left debris scattered along the inbound lanes towards Bo Win.
Driver and passenger taken to Pattaya Hospital
Rescuers at the scene on Highway 331 in Banglamung identified the driver as Phanusak Rueangsuk (24), who sustained a fracture to his left arm inside the overturned Mitsubishi Triton. Emergency workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center also found passenger Janyamon Tempiam (25) in the pickup with a broken left arm and pain in her left knee after the crash near Bo Win.
First responders from Pattaya provided initial medical treatment to Phanusak Rueangsuk and Janyamon Tempiam on Highway 331 before transporting both injured occupants to Pattaya Hospital for further care. Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center stated that both Phanusak Rueangsuk and Janyamon Tempiam were in stable condition during the ambulance transfer from Banglamung to Pattaya Hospital on 16 November 2025.
Driver admits he briefly fell asleep
At the crash site in Banglamung, Phanusak Rueangsuk, aged 24, told police investigators that he had dozed off for a few seconds while driving the Mitsubishi Triton on Highway 331 towards Bo Win.
“I fell asleep at the wheel and lost control,”
said Phanusak Rueangsuk, Driver.
Police officers in Banglamung recorded the statement of Phanusak Rueangsuk and documented that he said the pickup left the roadway, struck the roadside mast and overturned on Highway 331 near Bo Win.
Police record evidence and open investigation
Local police units in Banglamung conducted a scene examination on 16 November 2025, collecting physical evidence from the damaged Mitsubishi Triton and the impacted roadside pole on Highway 331. Investigators from the Banglamung police said they would question witnesses and review the crash evidence to determine precise causes and any legal consequences for Phanusak Rueangsuk.
Authorities highlight fatigue-related crash risks
Traffic officers in Chonburi province have repeatedly reported that driver fatigue contributed to many serious crashes on long stretches of highways such as Route 331 between Pattaya and Bo Win. Police commanders in Pattaya said they would continue road-safety campaigns and roadside checks in Chonburi to reduce fatigue-related crashes similar to the 16 November 2025 accident in Banglamung.
Traffic police in Chonburi province issued the following reminders for drivers using routes such as Highway 331 between Pattaya and Bo Win:
- Take driving breaks at least every two hours on long trips in Chonburi.
- Avoid scheduling long-distance journeys during the early morning hours on highways near Pattaya and Banglamung.
- Stop immediately and rest when feeling the first signs of drowsiness while driving near Pattaya or on Highway 331.
Police officers in Pattaya stated that driver fatigue remained one of the main causes of serious traffic crashes in Chonburi province, and they planned additional enforcement and education measures in Banglamung and surrounding districts following the 16 November 2025 incident.
