Chinese Fugitive Caught at Bangkok Airport

Suspect apprehended attempting to flee Thailand before facing charges of fraud and forgery.

SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT, BANGKOK – A Chinese national sought by Pattaya’s justice system for months was arrested at the airport. The 37-year-old Ming Long Liu was stopped at the gate before he could flee the country.

Zugriff im Abflug-Terminal

Officers from the Pattaya City Police and the Immigration Bureau apprehended Liu on the fourth floor of the international departures terminal as he attempted to leave the country. The police presented the arrest warrant and took the 37-year-old into custody without resistance. He was then transported to the police station.

Geklaute Identitäten, gefälschte Papiere

Liu is wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court on March 16, 2026. The charges are extensive, including joint fraud through identity theft and joint forgery of official documents. The case file, numbered J.159/2569, underscores the seriousness with which the judiciary is treating the matter.

Chefermittler aus Chonburi koordinieren

This operation was coordinated under the command of Major General Pongphan Wongmanithet, Chief of the Chonburi Provincial Police. Several high-ranking regional officials were involved, including Colonel Kulchat Kulchai, Colonel Wasurach Chaitheerapat, and Pattaya Police Chief Colonel Anek Sarathongyu. Investigators from Special Unit 2 ultimately placed handcuffs on Liu at the airport.

Spur fĂ¼hrte direkt zum Flieger

Detectives had been tracking Liu for some time. A tip from the intelligence department of the Immigration Bureau led officers to his trail, revealing his intent to leave the country. His attempt to escape concluded before he could check in for his flight. Authorities emphasized that this arrest is a significant blow against cross-border fraud networks.

Ab in den Knast, dann vor Gericht

Liu is currently detained at the Pattaya City Police Station awaiting interrogation. His transfer to the investigating officers at the station proceeded smoothly. Subsequently, the public prosecutor’s office will decide on charges and the trial process. For Liu, the legal proceedings are set to begin.

Jagd auf die Hintermänner läuft

For the police, Liu’s arrest is just the beginning. Officers are now focused on dismantling the criminal network and actively searching for accomplices. The fraudulent scheme involving forged papers and manipulated computer data suggests the involvement of a larger gang, making further arrest warrants highly probable.
