British Man Arrested Twice for Disturbances

24-year-old foreigner detained in Phuket for repeat offenses, including resisting arrest.

PHUKET, THAILAND – A 24-year-old British man was arrested twice in two days for public disturbances, culminating in charges of intoxication and disorderly conduct.

In Chalong, Phuket, a 24-year-old British national, identified only as Mr. Brown, was apprehended after reportedly causing disturbances for the second time within 48 hours. Police stated the man was heavily intoxicated, resisted during the initial check, and attempted to flee before being taken to the Chalong police station.

The arrest occurred on June 2nd around noon in Soi Ta-iad, an area known for its numerous fitness and Muay Thai studios. A patrol team responded to reports of a severely inebriated foreigner speaking incoherently and causing trouble.

When officers attempted to search the individual, police claim he resisted and tried to escape. For the safety of residents and visitors, police took him into custody and transported him to the Chalong police station for further processing.

Authorities later identified the man as the same individual encountered on June 1st outside a home in Soi Ta-iad. He had allegedly knocked on a resident’s door and attempted to take a raincoat and a motorcycle helmet.

The homeowner expressed fear for his family’s safety and property but chose not to file a complaint. Consequently, officers issued the man a warning at that time.

Police reported that Mr. Brown was lucid during the first encounter and explained his actions were intended as a joke. Officers also confirmed he possessed valid identification and travel documents.

The 24-year-old is reportedly in Phuket to study Muay Thai, an detail officers noted during their investigation.
