BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Bank customers are advised of a comprehensive system shutdown scheduled for early Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, which will significantly disrupt electronic transactions.
Hours-long Outage Expected Saturday Night
Starting from 1 AM on Saturday, mobile banking services will be unavailable, leaving customers unable to perform transfers or check balances via their smartphones until 7 AM. All other electronic channels operated by Bangkok Bank will also be inaccessible from 1 AM to 6 AM.
ATMs, Credit Cards, and International Limits
Access to cash will be severely limited for customers relying on Bangkok Bank credit or prepaid cards for withdrawals, transfers, or point-of-sale payments. This restriction applies to the bank’s own ATMs and those of other financial institutions.
Debit card holders will experience even greater limitations. Their debit cards will be completely blocked at international ATMs, preventing any cash withdrawals abroad.
Online Shopping and Travel Funds Blocked
Online purchases and payments through debit or travel cards will not be possible during the maintenance period. Transactions conducted online or via card readers domestically and internationally are expected to fail. For those using the bank’s travel card abroad, obtaining cash from foreign ATMs will also be impossible.
