Student kills Chinese man found in girlfriend’s room

Jealous lover stabs 20-year-old Cao Ke in Na Jomtien, girlfriend injured in Sattahip hotel room

CHON BURI, THAILAND – A 20-year-old Thai college student allegedly killed a Chinese man after finding him in his girlfriend’s room on August 8 in Na Jomtien.

Cao Ke, 20, died at the scene. The girlfriend, 21, was wounded. The suspect turned himself in and now faces a premeditated murder charge.

Fight erupts in girlfriend’s room

The incident happened in a room in Sattahip district. The woman, identified under the pseudonym A, worked at a hotel that Cao sometimes visited. They had known each other and chatted for about two months.

According to her account, Cao arrived around midnight. They talked and later fell asleep. The next morning, her boyfriend Thanachot returned from work in Pattaya and came to the room.

Both men give similar accounts

A said Thanachot knocked on the door and she let him in. The three spoke briefly before a quarrel broke out between the two men.

Thanachot told police he found a stranger in his girlfriend’s room. A scuffle followed, during which Cao was fatally wounded. Thanachot said he did not intend to kill him.

Girlfriend hurt trying to intervene

A said she tried to stop the fight. She was injured and could not separate the two men.

I tried to stop the fight but I got hurt and couldn’t pull them apart.

said A, the girlfriend.

Cops find body, injured woman at scene

Police learned of the incident at 7.10 am from a report by Amarin TV. Officers found Cao dead in the room. The injured woman was still at the scene.

Suspect leads police to knife

Thanachot fled toward Pattaya after the incident. After learning Cao was dead, he decided to turn himself in.

At around 2.30 pm, investigators brought him back to the scene as part of the probe. He then led officers to an overgrown area behind the accommodation where he had discarded the weapon. Using a metal detector, police found a folding knife with a curved blade and tip. It was seized for forensic examination.

Investigators questioned more witnesses, reviewed CCTV footage, and gathered additional evidence. Forensics officers inspected the room and surrounding area.
