The discussions took place on June 18 at the Kazan International Congress Center, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Russia commemorative summit. Government spokesperson Rachada Dhanadirek described the atmosphere as remarkably friendly. During the meeting, Thailand emphasized its long-standing friendship with Russia and acknowledged its status as a major world power.
President Putin expressed his pleasure with the close relations. He also pointed to a significant milestone: the 130th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries will be celebrated in 2027. This upcoming jubilee is expected to further invigorate their commitment to collaboration.

To further solidify their political and economic axis, Russia is set to host the 9th meeting of the Thai-Russian Joint Commission in Moscow in August 2026. This mechanism is considered a key driver for practical cooperation between the two nations.
