FUKUOKA, Japan – A 28-year-old Thai woman caught with nearly 900g of methamphetamine hidden in coffee bags at Fukuoka airport will face no charges.
Prosecutors found no criminal intent and closed the case. She can now return to Thailand.

The deadline for a formal indictment passed on July 31. Prosecutors concluded the evidence was insufficient to prove a crime. For the woman, the criminal proceedings are now over.
Arrest with 900g crystal meth in coffee packets
The case began on July 12. Customs officers stopped the traveller on arrival from Thailand and found about 900 grams of crystalline methamphetamine in her luggage.
The drugs were inside sealed coffee bags. Police arrested the young woman at the airport on suspicion of violating the narcotics law.
