Teenager Admits Girlfriend Murder

Body found in public bin after weeks of searching by devastated family

RAYONG, THAILAND – A 16-year-old has admitted to murdering his 17-year-old girlfriend and disposing of her body in a public bin.

Gestank führte zur Entdeckung der Leiche

Residents in Moo 8, Krasae Bon sub-district, alerted authorities to an unbearable odor emanating from a roadside garbage bin. On June 18, as garbage collectors collected and compacted the contents, a black sack tore open. A human body was revealed.

Police, forensic experts, medical personnel, and rescue workers immediately responded to the scene. The initial examination indicated the body was severely decomposed, with death having occurred at least a week prior.

Vermisste 17-Jährige aus Nakhon Ratchasima

The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Chonthicha from Nakhon Ratchasima province. Her family had traveled specially after reporting her missing approximately two weeks earlier, at which point contact had been abruptly lost.

Investigators discovered two suspicious wounds during the initial post-mortem examination. Suspicion immediately turned to homicide and the concealment of a body.

Freund gerät ins Visier der Polizei

The investigation quickly led to the victim’s 16-year-old boyfriend, a resident of Moo 9, Tha Kwayan sub-district. Before her death, Chonthicha had traveled to Klaeng to pick up a motorcycle and subsequently met with him.

According to the police, an argument escalated. The teenager was reportedly jealous and believed his girlfriend was in contact with someone associated with the motorcycle. The meeting apparently ended fatally.

Geständnis und kaltblütige Vertuschung

During questioning, the 16-year-old reportedly took responsibility, citing jealousy and personal relationship problems as his motives. He then described how he disposed of the body.

He placed the body in a black trash bag, tied it with a hooded sweatshirt, and threw it into a public waste container, hoping to conceal the crime.

Polizei wartet auf Obduktion

Officers are continuing to gather witness statements, forensic evidence, mobile phone data, and surveillance footage. Formal charges under juvenile law will only be filed once the detailed autopsy report is available.

Until then, the teenager remains the focus of the murder investigation. The victim’s family is in shock after searching for the 17-year-old for nearly two weeks.
