Motorcycle thief snatches handbag

Police search for suspect after Jomtien street robbery

PATTAYA, THAILAND – A brazen handbag snatching occurred in Jomtien overnight, with authorities now seeking public assistance to identify the perpetrator.

The incident took place early on June 12th, shortly after 1 a.m., as the victim was walking along Jomtien Second Road near Soi 7 and the Chang Bar.

A motorcyclist suddenly approached, snatched the woman’s brown shoulder bag adorned with a floral pattern, and sped away. The victim was reportedly in shock when police arrived at the scene.

Escape in the Cover of Darkness

The unidentified assailant immediately fled on Jomtien Second Road towards South Pattaya, disappearing into the night with the stolen property.

The victim was unable to provide police with a detailed description of the motorcycle, including its make, color, or license plate.

Amulets, Phone, and 4,000 Baht Loot

Investigators stated the stolen bag contained approximately 4,000 Baht in cash, a mobile phone, and several amulets.

The total value of the stolen items is still being assessed. Police acknowledged that the amulets, in particular, may hold significant sentimental value.

Police Analyzing Surveillance Footage

Officers from the Pattaya City Police escorted the distressed victim to the station to file an official report.

Meanwhile, investigators are meticulously reviewing surveillance camera footage along the suspect’s escape route in hopes of identifying the attacker.

Witness Appeal in Jomtien

Due to the lack of crucial details regarding the motorcycle and the suspect, the Pattaya police are urgently appealing for any information from the public.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the vicinity of Soi 7 and the Chang Bar around 1 a.m. on June 12th is encouraged to contact the police in Pattaya.
