Pattaya, Thailand – A simple motorcycle test in the middle of the night triggered a chain of pursuits, attacks, and a wild mass brawl in the Nong Manao community. A 30-year-old man was injured and hospitalized, while police surveyed a scene of shattered car windows and a wrecked motorcycle.
Loud Motorcycle Test at Midnight
It was just before midnight on June 7 when 25-year-old Rojanawisit Buaton tested his recently repaired motorcycle at the entrance of Soi Nong Manao. A group of youths, who had been drinking in the street all evening, were disturbed by the engine’s roar. Shortly thereafter, the same young men, according to the police, sped into the street as if waiting for an opportunity to quarrel. They initially disappeared but returned around 11 PM, this time with engines revving, aggressive shouts, and visible knives.
Chase Ends in Chaos
Rojanawisit pursued the group, stating his intention to “clarify the misunderstanding.” The other side appeared conciliatory, claiming the problem was solved. However, as he rode home, he was suddenly pursued and attacked by several individuals. He dropped his motorcycle and ran for his life. At home, he called for his older brother and family’s help, and within seconds, relatives streamed out of the house and confronted the attackers.
One Injured, Dented Car, and a Wreck
When officers arrived shortly after midnight, they were met with a scene of devastation. A heavily intoxicated man, estimated to be around 30 years old, lay injured on the ground and was transported to the hospital by Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue workers. Scattered on the ground, police found several discarded knives, which were secured as evidence. A sedan displayed shattered windows, and a black Honda Wave 125 motorcycle lay heavily damaged and abandoned.
Police Secure Video Material and Review Legal Steps
Investigators from the Banglamung Police Station are now interviewing all involved parties and collecting witness statements from the neighborhood. Simultaneously, footage from surveillance cameras in the soi is being reviewed to reconstruct the exact sequence of the violence. The police intend to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible. The secured knives remain in evidence until the incident is fully clarified.
