BANGKOK, THAILAND – A food delivery driver has been arrested for pickpocketing a Qatari tourist in Thong Lor, with police identifying two other alleged perpetrators and gathering evidence for arrest warrants.

According to police, the Qatari tourist filed a report on June 2 following the incident in Soi Sukhumvit 38. Two men on a motorcycle allegedly snatched his bag.
The Thong Lor Police Station apprehended 26-year-old Anusorn on June 3. He was taken to the station to initiate legal proceedings.

The stolen bag reportedly contained 20,000 Thai Baht in cash and 500 US dollars in cash, along with credit cards and other cards.
Police have listed the stolen items as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Investigators identified three suspects in connection with the crime. 30-year-old Worachon allegedly selected potential victims, 32-year-old Jakraphat is accused of driving the motorcycle, and Anusorn is alleged to have snatched the bag.
Officers found black stickers covering the license plate on the motorcycle, seemingly to obscure the number.

Anusorn reportedly told police that he received 6,000 Thai Baht from the robbery and subsequently discarded the bag.
He also informed investigators that he needed the money for personal expenses and online gambling.

Last year, officers from the Rattanathibet Police Station arrested a 47-year-old man. He was accused of stealing a bag from a Myanmar national to fund online gambling. That bag contained 28,000 Thai Baht (approximately 840 US dollars), a mobile phone, passport, work permit, and other documents.
According to police, the previous case shows parallels in the modus operandi and alleged motive.

Anusorn faces charges including group theft at night, causing physical or mental harm, using a vehicle for the commission of a crime, transporting stolen goods, and fleeing from arrest. His motorcycle was confiscated as evidence.
The police are currently gathering further evidence to request arrest warrants for the other two accused individuals.
