Pattaya plans packed events for February 2026

Coastal city banks on sports, festivals and family attractions to boost tourism

PATTAYA, THAILAND – The coastal city prepared a tightly packed events calendar for February 2026, ranging from sports and food fairs to cultural festivals in a bid to stimulate tourism and the local economy. Under the slogan “City of Pattaya – Your Everyday Destination,” the resort positioned itself again as a year-round destination for residents and international visitors.

Trails and outdoor sports on island and beach

On 1 February, the 4th Koh Larn Trail 2026 started at Samae Beach on Koh Larn, challenging trail runners over roughly 25‑kilometre and 11‑kilometre routes through jungle, rocks and coastal sections. Organisers relied on a mix of demanding passages and spectacular sea views to strengthen Pattaya’s reputation as a destination for outdoor and adventure sports.

Food festivals aimed at families and shoppers

In parallel, the Food Fun Fest 2026 was scheduled from 1–11 February and 13–24 February on the airfield space in front of Terminal 21 Pattaya, featuring street food, international cuisine and playful gastronomic formats to attract a broad audience. The festival offered a wide range of dishes and focused on a low‑threshold, family‑friendly experience designed to revitalise trade and gastronomy around the shopping center.

Motorbikes, live music and beach football

From 12–14 February, the 29th Burapa Pattaya Bike Week 2026 at the Eastern National Sports Training Center in Soi Chaiyapruek 2 invited motorcycle fans from the region to parades, live music, exhibitions and a staged freedom culture on two wheels. Immediately afterwards, from 13–19 February, the Pattaya International Beach Football 2026, also known as the Pattaya Beach Football Cup, put international teams in the spotlight on Jomtien Beach in front of the D Varee Hotel as they competed in sand matches for the tournament title.

Chinese New Year on the waterfront

On 17 February, the city celebrated Pattaya Chinese New Year 2026 along Central Pattaya Beach, marking the Chinese New Year of the Horse with dragon dances, lanterns, red envelopes, cultural shows and fireworks. The importance of the festival for the strongly represented Chinese and Chinese‑Thai community in Pattaya was reflected in programme elements geared towards prosperity and good fortune.

Golf elite and water sports competitions

From 19–22 February, the renowned women’s golf tournament Honda LPGA Thailand 2026 was on the schedule at Siam Country Club Old Course, with top players from the LPGA Tour competing for the title of one of the country’s most important international tournaments. On 21–22 February, the SUP Board Pattaya Championships 2026 expanded the sports offering in the water sports arena at Jomtien Beach with stand‑up paddle competitions.

Kites, beach tennis and further activities

Towards the end of the month, from 25 February to 1 March, the Pattaya International Kite on the Beach 2026 was set to fill the sky above Pattaya Beach with colourful kites in a family‑friendly spectacle. At the same time, from 27 February to 1 March, the Pattaya International Beach Tennis 2026 was planned at Jomtien Beach in front of the Dee Varee Hotel, while the city administration and private partners prepared further activities, with up‑to‑date information provided via PRPATTAYA on Facebook and the 24‑hour Pattaya Contact Center 1337.

Debate over tourism strategy

The densely packed events calendar was intended to increase visitor numbers and benefit the economy. However, the organisers also pointed to challenges such as traffic, waste and rising prices associated with large events, and raised the question of whether such event offensives were the right path for sustainable tourism or risked leading to overtourism.

“With a jam‑packed events calendar, visitor flows were meant to grow and the economy to benefit. But major events also brought traffic, rubbish and rising prices. Were such event offensives the right way to achieve sustainable tourism – or would it eventually become too much?”

said The Pattaya News, source commentary.
