PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 26-year-old woman’s short holiday in Pattaya ended in theft when her suitcase with clothing and luxury handbags worth more than 30,000 baht was stolen outside a beauty salon.
Suitcase left outside crowded salon
According to Wachirayan Thaworn, she had planned a short trip to Pattaya with a friend and then intended to travel on to another province. On Thursday evening she left her suitcase in front of a busy beauty salon on Thepprasit Road while she was inside having her hair done so as not to take up extra space in the narrow salon. The hair appointment lasted, by her account, less than 30 minutes, and when she stepped back outside near the end of the treatment, the suitcase was gone.
Two men on black motorbike caught on CCTV
Shortly afterwards, police secured surveillance footage from a camera in front of the shop. The images showed two men on a black Honda PCX motorbike stopping directly in front of the salon. The passenger, wearing three-quarter-length trousers and an orange shirt, quickly dismounted, grabbed the suitcase, loaded it onto the bike and sped away with the rider.
Luxury handbags valued at more than 30,000 baht
Police stated that the luggage contained clothing and several handbags from luxury brands with a total value of more than 30,000 baht. Wachirayan filed a report at around 10 p.m. on 4 December 2025 at the Pattaya City Police Station and urgently requested that officers arrest the perpetrators.
“I am worried that the two men could target other tourists or local residents using the same method,”
said Wachirayan Thaworn, victim.
Concern over further victims
According to initial findings, the suspects chose a time when the salon was very busy and the suitcase was left unattended on the street. Wachirayan expressed concern that others could fall victim in a similar way if the men were not caught.
“They waited until the salon was crowded and my suitcase was unattended outside,”
said Wachirayan Thaworn, victim.
Police analyse additional cameras
Local police said they had launched an investigation to identify and arrest the men. Additional CCTV footage along Thepprasit Road and in neighbouring streets was being reviewed to track the suspects’ movements. Officers were focusing on identifying the licence plate or distinctive features of the Honda PCX, reconstructing the route taken on adjacent streets and checking for previous offences with a similar modus operandi in the area.

Police reported that the evaluation of the recordings was ongoing. No information about possible suspects had been released so far.
